Drove up to Portland to shoot an episode of my upcoming podcast Michael Petrigno (WDYETS) (which I fudged up by not making sure the mics were connected, very long ride home after that)… but before I shot that episode that won’t be seen, I stopped at Bite into Maine® for some lobster rolls. I drove up a little early just so I can come here. They have a few locations but I came to the original. A small food trailer on this hill in Cape Elizabeth. Beautiful scenery, tons of landscape with a gorgeous ocean view & breeze. Ya know, eating somewhere like this can make the food taste better. Atmosphere plays a big role.
Bite Into Maine offers a few different styles. Of course they have the traditional cold with mayo or hot with butter, but they have a few special rolls like the picnic which comes with Cole slaw and celery salt, with warm butter poured on top. I got that one and the chipotle roll. I knew I’d love the picnic. I love anything with Cole slaw on it. Their rolls are perfectly toasted, obviously the lobster meat is great… you’re in Maine, duh!! If you google “best lobster rolls in Maine”, a lot of those lists will show Bite Into Maine. Personally, I think there’s hundred of places that can be put on those lists. You’re in the lobster capital over here. I think it’ll be harder to find a bad roll than it will be to find a good one in Maine, especially on the coast. But any who, Bite Into Maine definitely had a great roll and I loved the picnic roll. Great place. Summer might be ending soon but we still have some nice weather, so go eat a roll before it’s too late to sit outside and enjoy it.
