A Lincoln High School English teacher once wrote on her chalkboard that the purpose of life is:
“to be useful, to be honorable, to be compassionate,
to have it make some difference that you have lived…”
To paraphrase Ralph Waldo Emerson, “Cards care.” There’s a long tradition at Lincoln of giving back to the community, and this year, more than ever, our community is in need. For the past twelve years, the Lincoln Alumni Food Drive has brought together students, parents, staff, and alumni to help Portland’s hungry—including Lincoln families in need—during the holidays.
Please join your fellow Cards in supporting this worthy cause and help us reach our fundraising goal of $15,000. Together we can ensure that hundreds of families throughout Portland have access to supplemental food this holiday season. Donate now—every dollar helps—and then reach out to a classmate and ask them to do the same. Let's see of we can get participation from every graduating class.
Will you be part of this amazing community and join fellow donors in supporting this year’s food drive? All funds go directly to purchasing food; there is no overhead.
