_________________________

We’ll be open special hours on Sunday, Nov 20 from 6-9 pm for a public vigil for . This event is during our all ages hours.

There will be free community dinner, tea, indoor and outdoor expressive art, a memorial table, a reading of names (please message to submit a memorial name), and an open mic for sharing, limited to people with lived trans experiences or personal ties to the memorializations.

Please be mindful of our trans, nonbinary, and gender nonconforming worker owners, time donors, artists, community members, and neighbors. Please be respectful of different needs and capacities during this event. Masks welcomed & provided.

If you would like to contribute, dm. Contributions can include art, memorial support, supplies, etc. This is a low pressure, co-creative, supportive space.

Portland has lost too many trans lives. The world is losing too many trans lives. Let’s revisit space for community.

And Oxtails plate 😍

🌶 order a side of chili: so tasty & perfect for soup season 🌶

It’s hard to write about the realities of going completely off the map and trying to revolutionize your small corner, and seize the means for your community.

We TRULY hope y’all get to see the fruits of all the work we put in, and how amazing things can become. We’re talking augmented reality, ice cream, digital crossovers, afrofusion, pop-ups, poles, sober spaces, year round marketplace, new co-op and board members, all ages outreach, and SO much more!! But we might not make it.

Hard to say how terrified we are to be teetering on the edge of decisions that determine whether we will be able to continue our work, to know we’ll find out in the midst of a heart wrenching week, as we lay Astrid’s grandmother to rest.

How we are afraid to lose any more than we have, to this project that we put literally everything into. To lose Black and Trans ownership in a city smattered with sloganized versions of our existences. To wait and see the gentrification continue.

We’ll keep doing our best to keep y’all in the loop. Send donations and or good energy—P¡NQ 💖

Entitlement is not more important than our safety. We will not stand for this harassment. We will not alter our standards or put on our “customer is always right” voice, this is not a corporate chain, it is a workers cooperative.

Big decisions coming soon about how we wish to continue to serve the Portland community, after months of this happening behind the scenes—but in the meantime, is this the community y’all claim?

No, we aren’t editing out names posted on a public forum. This is shameful, toxic behavior. We don’t owe kindness to people who could care less about what we lose, and actively seek to harm us. We are TIRED of the oppressive behavior people seem to think is normal and acceptable.

If we fail because we have boundaries, then we fail with the dignity this world so often tries to take away from us.
