It’s with a heavy heart I pass on the news that Mike Yegerlehner took his own life this past weekend.. Mike (aka Santa) has been an icon of my establishments for years, a steadfast friend, and a helping hand in launching one of my restaurants. He’s helped us each of the past few years to put on some amazing events for local veterans, raised money, showed up, and brought all the energy and joy a Marine possibly could. A Marine veteran, steadfast husband, contractor, the best damn Santa you ever met, Mike has been an active member of our community that almost everyone can recognize. I spoke with his wife Michelle and unfortunately the VA is of no help at this time. It would be a dishonor not to give a proper send off to a veteran that has helped so many others that have served. It's clear that we need to do something for her in this difficult time to pay her and Mike back for everything they’ve done for this community.
On Monday Oct 13th JJ's will be suspending it's normal specials and instead be hosting a fundraiser to help Michelle with expenses and have a celebration of life. On that day we ask you to come to JJ's Table and Bar and buy a drink in Mike’s memory and we will donate 100% of our alcohol sales to Michelle. We will also collect any donations for Michelle on her behalf. We will be open from 4:30pm until 9:00pm.
