This week’s guest speaker was Travis Ritter, the son of our member, Loyal Ritter. Travis has just graduated from Oregon State with a degree in economics. He talked to us about the fundamentals of economics and his desire to help young people understand how economics applies to their daily lives in the short term and especially over the long run through retirement. It was a great presentation. I might have passed Econ 201 in college back in 1967 if Travis had been my professor!

We exchanged club banners with the new district wide SWFL Club at this week’s meeting. The SWFL Club was represented by their secretary, Priya Ahluwalia. Our founding member and club secretary, Chris Gover, exchanged our banner with Priya. Good luck to the new club.

We are very fortunate to have our Canadian Rotarian, Joanne Johnston, frequently attend our morning breakfast meetings. She has a wealth of experience in Rotary. And this week she won the raffle to draw for the joker. And we would have loved to send her back to Canada this week as the winner. But no luck. She drew the 3 of clubs. Drive safe, Joanne and we hope to see you again once the winter begins in Canada.
