What an incredible moment for the entire Bella Napoli Pizzeria & Restaurant family!

Yesterday, our own Vitangelo “Vito” Recchia was featured on the front cover of the Charlotte Sun, celebrating his recent trip to Sweden where he brought home 1st Place in Teglia at the Pizza Champion Cup Championships International. 🇺🇸🇮🇹🇸🇪🏆

But this recognition represents so much more than one competition or one trophy.

Bella Napoli has been part of this community since 2003, and none of these moments happen without the people who have supported us along the way.

To our incredible staff — thank you for holding down the fort, believing in what we do, and representing Bella Napoli every single day.

To our customers and community — thank you for every dinner, every pizza, every celebration, every recommendation, every encouraging message, and every year you continue to choose our family and our restaurant.

To Vito’s family — Theresa, Benny and James — thank you for supporting the countless hours, travel, competitions, teaching, testing and dedication that happen behind the scenes.

BELLA NAPOLI IS BRINGING HOME THE GOLD FROM SWEDEN! 🥇

From Port Charlotte, Florida, to Gothenburg, Sweden, Bella Napoli owner and pizzaiolo Vitangelo “Vito” Recchia stepped onto the international stage at the International Nordic Pizza Champion Cup — and walked away with 1ST PLACE in Gourmet Pan Pizza!

🔥 The winning pizza: “TEGLIA WITH MAGIC.” 🔥

Vito created this Roman-style teglia specifically for Sweden, combining his technique and years of work with flavors inspired by Scandinavia.

Potato cream. Crème fraîche. Butter-poached langoustines. Chanterelles. Lingonberry gastrique. Smoked sea salt.

When competition day arrived, everything came together.

Just perfect on all accounts.

But this win is bigger than one pizza and one trophy.

It represents the countless hours of testing, failures, adjustments, education and sacrifice that happen when nobody is watching.

Most importantly, it represents Vito’s family -his wife Theresa and their boys, Benny and James - who make the sacrifices behind the scenes every time he travels, teaches, competes and continues chasing the next level.

It represents the entire Bella Napoli staff, who hold down the fort back home.

It represents our customers, Port Charlotte and Southwest Florida, who have supported Bella Napoli and this journey year after year.

Bella Napoli has called Port Charlotte home since 2003.

Now, a neighborhood pizzeria from Southwest Florida has stood on top of an international podium in Sweden. 🇸🇪🏆

Sweden knows the name now.
Southwest Florida knew it first.

September 11, 2001 — September 11, 2026 🇺🇸

Twenty-five years.

For those of us old enough to remember that morning, September 11th isn’t simply a date in a history book.

We remember where we were.

We remember who we were with.
We remember watching the television in disbelief.
We remember the smoke. The towers. The Pentagon. Flight 93.
We remember realizing that the world we woke up in that morning would never be the same again.

But we should also remember what happened after.

We watched firefighters, police officers, paramedics and ordinary Americans run toward danger while everyone else was trying to escape it.

We watched strangers help strangers.

We watched communities come together.

And for a moment, the things that normally divided us seemed incredibly small compared to the thing that united us:

We were Americans.

Today, 25 years later, an entire generation has grown up knowing September 11th only through photographs, videos, classrooms and the stories we tell them.

That makes our responsibility even greater.

We have to tell them what happened.

We have to tell them about the 2,977 lives taken that day.

But we also have to tell them about the courage, sacrifice, compassion and unity that followed.

September 11th changed our country forever. It changed families forever. It sent men and women into wars, brought first responders into unimaginable circumstances, and left wounds that continue long after the cameras disappeared.

So today isn’t about politics.

It’s about people.

The people we lost.
The families who never got their loved ones back.
The first responders who ran toward the unimaginable.
The men and women who served our country afterward.
And everyone who still carries the physical and emotional scars of that day.

Twenty-five years have passed.

Remember the day.
Remember the lives.
Remember the heroes.
Remember how this country came together.

And make damn sure the generations who weren’t there understand why we promised:

WE WILL NEVER FORGET. 🇺🇸

12 YEARS. ONE INCREDIBLE JOURNEY. ❤️🇮🇹

Twelve years ago today, I signed the dotted line.

I remember the nerves. I remember the anxiety. And I remember knowing that what we were taking on was bigger than simply owning a restaurant.

Because Bella Napoli was never ours to create from scratch.

Someone else had the vision and courage to create Bella Napoli in 2003, and from that original creation came the opportunity for us to take the torch, respect what was built, and write the next chapter.

Bella Napoli was already great. It was already a staple of this community. It already had loyal guests, history and a name people trusted.

Our responsibility was never to erase that history. It was to build on it.

And build we did.

Over the last 12 years, Bella Napoli has grown and evolved into what you see today — an expanded restaurant, a full and extensive bar, an ever-evolving food and pizza program, statewide recognition as Best of Florida, and, most importantly, a restaurant that continues to be part of the fabric of this community.

We’ve experienced incredible highs, difficult days, long nights, mistakes, lessons, awards, growth and plenty of moments when we simply had to put our heads down and keep going.

But none of it happens without people.

To every staff member, past and present, who has put on a Bella Napoli shirt and helped us get here — thank you. Your hard work, loyalty and commitment are part of this story.

To our community and every guest who has supported us, recommended us, challenged us, celebrated with us, brought your families through our doors and continued coming back year after year — thank you for trusting us.

That trust has allowed us to take someone else’s original dream and continue building it into the Bella Napoli of today.

From its beginning in 2003, to us taking the reins 12 years ago, to everything Bella Napoli has become today — every chapter matters.

We are simply the current caretakers of a story that continues to be written.

So here’s to 23 years of Bella Napoli.
Here’s to 12 years of our journey.
And here’s to the next 12. 🥂🇮🇹❤️

We’re still learning. Still evolving. Still pushing. Still trying to become one percent better every single day — without ever forgetting where we came from.

Man… we’ve been on a ROLL this week on Facebook. 😂🍕🔥

And then… we dropped the ball with our new online ordering platform. 🤦🏻‍♂️

For anyone who placed an order through bellanapoli1938.com - Owner.com and experienced delays, issues, or other mishaps, we truly apologize. That’s not the experience we expect our guests to have. If a refund is due and hasn’t already been processed, we’ll make sure it’s taken care of.

On the flip side, if you DID have a good experience with the new platform, we want to hear that too! 👍🏻 Your feedback—good or bad—helps us bring real information back to the company hosting and managing the platform so these issues can be corrected.

For the time being, we are REMOVING the new online ordering option until the hiccups are figured out and we’re confident it works the way it should.
