Well the day is finally here and I’m officially announcing the bittersweet news that the era of the Strait Slice Pizza Company is coming to an end this weekend. Tomorrow Sunday, will be our last day of operation. But today is Saturday and today is our day to party!!. Tonight will be having live music and a celebration beginning at 8 PM and it’s open to the public for anybody that wants to come down and celebrate with us. We will also be open all day today beginning at 12 PM and then staying open through midnight for the festivities. This has been an incredible time for my life and the life of my family to be part of this wonderful community this last 11 years. I can’t thank you all enough. You have all shown it through your support and love for our pizza and we will carry that love with us for the rest of our lives from the experience that we’ve had here. The good news is that the new owner, Eric Whitman , born and raised here in Port Angeles and returning home after living in Nashville will be continuing the tradition of pizza in the same location. There will be a name change and his new name will be the Dead Low Pizza company. He will also be making hand tossed New York style, thin crust pizza available by the slice and it’s going to be fantastic with the energy that he brings to the space. I cannot think of a better person that could be taking over what the Strait Slice has begun and carrying on the tradition of a warm and vibrant and welcoming space where people can come in and commune and relax and enjoy some world class Pizza. I’ll follow up with some more information, but I hope to see you all tonight. We’re focused on just being here mentally today and enjoying every last interaction with you, our customers and friends.
