While Renaissance may have closed, some of the spirit that made it the magical place that is was still bubbles up through special places in our community.
Many of you will be happy to learn that Jonel Lyons--our long term receptionist/host, tea wallah, and retail wizard--has, along with her talented husband, Justin Pollak, (remember the amazing tea bar at Renaissance? A work of art by Justin) have restored and opened The Carlsborg Store.
The Mercantile is a feast for the senses, and in addition to the welcoming, familiar faces, so much of what made Renaissance delicious is also in store. Jonel is pouring Rishi Teas, and recently the triple certified Caffe Ibis Coffee has returned to the Peninsula via The Carlsborg Store.
It feels kinda like home.
Jonel and Justin are so good at preserving what's best about community and history, in a master move at getting the band back together, they are also selling Dr. Keenan Botanical Solutions lip balms and lotions! Yes, there's hope for skin this winter.
BIG OPEN HOUSE tomorrow, where you may run into many a familiar spirit. So, go to that if you can. But if not, be sure to drop in for all the good stuff at The Carlsborg Store.
For those of you drawn to the vintage Japanese folk arts and furniture at Renaissance, next Sunday (Dec 8, 10:30-5:30), The Carlsborg Store is hosting a Trunk Sale by Live Indigo Trading where proprietor Nita Lynn will offer Japanese indigo textiles, and other Japanese folk art pieces.
