For the last 6 years, we’ve made our 406 Fall Jam, and every year the peppers have come from our friends at Johnson's Homegrown. You can find them at the Clark Fork Market on Saturdays.
This batch is made with jalapeños, Thai Red Dragon peppers, and green peppers. It has a very low heat index, so don’t let the word pepper scare you off. The flavor is what really shines.
It’s one of my favorite fall staples and it goes perfect poured over cream cheese with chips or crackers.
This is a limited batch, so once it’s gone, it’s gone.

made carne asada tacos and these turned out ridiculously good. The meat marinated for about six hours in fresh orange juice, lime juice, garlic, soy sauce, carne asada seasoning, and olive oil. I cooked it up with sweet onion and some of my homemade bone broth, then let everything reduce down until it made its own rich sauce that coated the meat.
I fried up white corn tortillas and finished them with homemade cilantro buttermilk ranch, queso fresco, and sunflower microgreens for a little fresh crunch.
Simple ingredients, big flavor, and everything put together from scratch. This is exactly why I love cooking. You can take a handful of good ingredients, play around with them a little, and end up with something that tastes better than anything I could have gone out and bought.
Definitely making these again.

Mom decided she wanted shrimp scampi for dinner tonight instead of steak, so shrimp scampi it was! We don't drink, which also means I didn't have any w**e sitting around for the sauce. I improvised with lots of fresh garlic, butter, a little heavy cream, Parmesan, lime juice and pasta water, then finished everything off with fresh basil.
Sometimes some of the best meals come from just working with what you've got in the kitchen. This one definitely turned out pretty good.
