A homey little spot in the middle of the wonderful town of Polk City, IA. A dream brought together has turned into a small town gem. Rising Sun Cafe offers a full breakfast menu (voted one of the best) soups, salads, and sandwiches as well as bakery goods, a full coffee line, and the best hard pack ice cream you can find in the area!

The welcome to Polk City has been great and I have enjoyed meeting new people and making new friends.

A New Chapter at Rising Sun Cafe! ☕️

We’re excited to officially share that we have taken over Rising Sun Cafe in Polk City!

Our first week has been absolutely wonderful! We’ve loved meeting so many new friends, members of the community and returning values customers. We are truly grateful for the warm welcome and support we’ve received so far.

Our goal is to continue serving in a similar manner and keeping the things you already know and love about Rising Sun Cafe the same. For now, it’s business as usual, and any changes will come when the time is right.

We’d love for you to stop by, say hello, enjoy a meal, and become part of this next chapter with us! Please share your thoughts, ideas, and feedback—we want to hear from you!

We have some bittersweet news to share next Saturday August 8th will be our last day as owners of Rising Sun Cafe. Making this decision wasn’t easy. Over the years, this cafe has become so much more than a business, it has been a place filled with friendships, laughter, celebrations, and countless cups of coffee shared with an incredible community. We are beyond grateful for every customer who walked through our doors, every kind word, every order, and every moment you’ve shared with us.

To our amazing staff, thank you for your hard work, dedication, and the care you’ve shown our customers. You have been a huge part of what made Rising Sun Cafe so special.

That being said we are so excited for Rising Suns next chapter and we know you will love the new owners. It will be a smooth transition and you will even see me in the weeks following the transitions as I help the new owners as they begin their journey. I will let them introduce themselves when the time comes.

Thank you all for the support and community you have given us the last five and half years! We will miss you all but are so excited for the cafes future!
