I wanted to wait until our crazy, chaotic , but best weekend was over at The New World Tavern.
Soaking up every last minute with the people that have truly become my family- we had ourselves a weekend for sure.
I remember the day I went to interview for this job. I told myself, I’ll just do this bartending thing on the side.. but there was only one problem- I had never bartended a day in my life. I had no idea about this industry whatsoever. I almost didn’t go in; but something told me there must be a reason they’re calling someone in who doesn’t even have experience.
Before you know it fast forward to today, I’m writing this as the final manager at the NWT. Although I was only here for a few years, being the last one to do the job will forever hold a special place in my heart. I’ve watched, I’ve learned things about this industry that I never thought I would, I hold so much gratitude to NWT for that.
But most of all, my people.
How lucky was I, to walk into a job that wasn’t always easy, but for some reason even on our days of most chaos, I felt at home. There’s also two definitions of home: it could be Chance checking in on how I’m feeling, or maybe something like Michael telling me I looked awful that day. Either way, I know it was out of love 😉
I am forever grateful for these people who I can truly call my family.
The end of one of the craziest, most unexpected, best errors. We will miss you.
With so much love,
NWT crew
