And the bad news is...IT IS COLD OUTSIDE today. And the good news is, Carole's Cafe was sold and the new owners hope to be open in the next month. There will be a new banner hanging for announcements. I hope to be there occasionally to sample new menu items and to see the many of you that I had the pleasure to meet over the last number of years.

Good morning everyone. This is a message to thank everyone who has had a breakfast/lunch at Carole's Cafe and especially everyone who has taken the time to share what they liked and passed any good comments on to others. This is to thank the folks who took the time to share their appreciation to the kitchen crew. This is to thank the folks who took the time to show their appreciation to the server staff.
It is with sadness that I have to give notice that at the end of the day, this next Sunday, Nov. 10, the Cafe will be closing it's doors. The reasons are simple but necessary. With a crew of only 6, when there is a necessity of time off, there are few options to cover those times off. The good news is, WI has one of the lowest employment rates in the country. The bad news is, almost everyone who wants a job, has a job and most people want a full-time job, not the occasional time that the Cafe needs. Unfortunately, at my age, this puts a strain my physical abilities too. Those are the main reasons for this decision.
The Cafe has been "for sale" for a while. If there is an interested buyer, please contact me and we may be able to broker a deal.
So, when I think of all of the new people I met and people I have known for a while because of the two restaurants, it has been my pleasure to have spent time with you and I hope I have put a smile on your face and a smile in your tummy.
Thank you again for the past 16 years of patronage.

good afternoon to you all. As of right now, the Cafe is almost ready to be open in the evening with limited evenings and times. We want to thank the applicants and crew members we hired to make this possible.
The message now is to ask that anyone who would like to meet people in the community, enjoy foods like your Mom made and fill in the time during a quiet weekend night to stop in and fill an application. This would not me a FT job, just a couple of days/nights a month.
Hope to hear from you.

Good afternoon. I sent a message 2 days ago about letting the Cafe be open 4 nights a week for dinner, and put in a call for servers and cooks. That request is now being altered. The need for a cook has changed from part-time to almost full time. It may be a combination of day and evening work. Wages are comparable to or better than some local restaurants and current crew members say they like working in a family atmosphere restaurant.
Fill out an application and join us.

We hope everyone is having the kind of weekend that puts a smile on your face and a good memory in your head.
And just to let you know, the Cafe is still considering the idea of being open at night. We really do think the area of Plymouth would like a family Cafe open in the evening that serves simple but good Italian meals. We are ready to make that happen, but we need 4 people to work kitchen and server for 4 nights a week.
The open hours would be from 4:30 pm till 8 pm on Wednesday, Thursday Friday and Saturday. Working times would be 1/2 hour before for set-up and clean-up. Some times may vary. The Cafe has a beer and wine license only, so serving would be simple.
If interested, please stop in for an application.

Weekend specials. The Cafe's repeat guests know that every weekend we have 2 breakfast specials. Three if you count the times the cooks make cinnamon rolls (fresh out the the oven around 9:30 am on Sundays). This weekend's specials are back by popular demand---- Chocolate Eclair pancakes and Greek Omelets. As grandma used to say...Come and get em while their hot.

Well, vacations are over and it is time to start baking again. Tomorrow morning I would start with a Bavarian Apple torte. Thursday would be Date Bars and Friday I want to try a Chocolate Walnut Mousse Pie with an Oreo crust. You will have to let me know what you think, And maybe some Toll House chip cookies if I can find my favorite recipe from when my boys were kids and I had to make double recipes all of the time. Wish me luck.

It may be a dreary day right now, but the good news is that a lady stopped in the Cafe and asked if we would be interested in having new bakery offerings. I would consult with the crew and get back to her. I am looking forward to discussing new possibilities for bakery. So many guests have been asking when more fresh bakery and desserts would be available. Just what they are looking for.

Good morning. Wisconsin is one special state. Not only do we have the same four seasons as the rest of the world, we also have construction season, mosquito season, football season, winter hot tub season, Badger season and this week we were asked for soup. This is now "soup" season.
So what are your favorite soups? We are on the hunt for familiar and favorite soups, but last year we introduced new soups and they turned into your new favorites. What soups do you have favorite memories of???
