J Timothy's Taverne American restaurant & pub featuring the award-winning Dirt Wings. 143 New Britain Avenue Plainville, CT J.Timothy's Taverne was established in 1980.

Situated on the same property as the old Cooke's Tavern at 143 New Britain Ave in Plainville, CT, it has grown to be one of central Connecticut's finest casual theme restaurants. The building dates back to the year 1789, and was always a favorite stop for travelers along the Old College Highway. For over 235 years the Taverne has opened its doors to all and has hosted and shared many very special

events. Today, J.Timothy's Taverne continues the tradition that Cooke's Tavern started many years ago as being one of Connecticut's favorite gathering places. J.Timothys fare consists of everything from appetizers and sandwiches, to steaks, seafood, chicken, many other favorites and of course, our award-winng chicken wings! We created Dirt Wings! It boasts many different private dining rooms to accommodate groups of all sizes.

What a blast! Two nights packed with incredible Connecticut beer, delicious food, and awesome people! The room was buzzing with a lot of laughs. A huge thank you to everyone who made both dinners such fun!

🥵 This heatwave is putting everything to the test, including one of our A/C units, which is on the fritz. We're still open and ready to serve you, but we've had to close one of our dining rooms. That means seating may be a little more limited than usual today.

Thanks for your patience and understanding. Hope our A/C gets fixed soon and hope you are staying cool!
