By 8 AM, the whole crew is up, hungry, and asking what’s for breakfast for the forty-second morning in a row.
Early August does that to a house. School’s been out long enough that the cereal box is boring, the fridge feels empty even when it isn’t, and nobody wants to make another decision before coffee.
That’s about when families start showing up on W. Locust. A kid climbs into the chair before mom even orders, already knowing the Wakey Waffle is coming, already reaching for the Candy Land box on the shelf. Parents get their latte in a real mug, shoulders finally down, and the morning stops feeling like a to-do list.
We’ve got the sidewalk shade, the free Wi-Fi, and a table that’s yours as long as you need it. No rushing the six-year-old through her breakfast. No side-eye when pieces end up on the floor.
Bring the whole crew. We’re glad when the morning gets a little loud. 🤎
