Founded in 1973, with a loan from her best friend and a week’s worth of credit from suppliers, our grandmother, Dorothy Turner Everett with the help of her nine children, opened the first Everett & Jones Barbecue restaurant on 92nd Avenue in Oakland California. nd. To compliment the meat our grandmother created her own signature sauce. Like our grandmother’s original sauce, 92nd Sauce comes in 3 different heat intensities (Mild, Medium and Hot).
