To our valued friends, employees and guests of Trattoria Rustica. It is with humble gratitude and heavy heart to close Trattoria Rustica. This has been a difficult and emotional decision to say goodbye. Davide, the owner and chef, tried to find every solution to keep going but due to his health at risk he made the tough decision to close the doors. We are extremely humbled that so many embraced our restaurant and that we were able to succeed as long as we had.

We’d like to thank our staff, past and present for being such an integral part of the business and helping us provide so many wonderful experiences to our countless customers. There are no words that clearly express the love and gratitude we feel for our staff that worked so hard to keep the vision alive. We became a family. So very grateful for the love and tremendous efforts, you are all so amazing.

Of course, we give immeasurable thanks to everyone who has dined with us. Whether it’s been for years or you found us recently. We are grateful for your continued support and loyalty; you are the direct reason for our success as we are truly humbled and honored to have served you. You trusted us with your most treasured events: birthday celebrations, graduation dinners, first dates, marriage proposals, rehearsal dinners, intimate wedding receptions and celebrations of life, and many other extraordinary moments.
However, as much as we love Trattoria Rustica, and seeing you walk through our doors, the most difficult decision was imposed upon us during these unprecedented times to move on

Once again our deepest gratitude with our very best and sincerest wishes we hope you stay safe and take care of each other. We will miss you all so very much ❤️

Hi everyone! First and foremost we’d like to thank everyone for their generosity and well wishes for Davide. We’d like to share an update on him.

Davide is slowly getting stronger everyday, thankfully he was able to leave the rehabilitation and go home. He still has some medical problems that need attention and is scheduled to have a heart procedure at Baystate in the near future.

Thank you again for all the support & love for Davide. It’s immensely appreciated 🙏🏽

Hello everyone! Due to an unexpected & unfortunate circumstance that our chef & owner Davide has gone through, Trattoria Rustica is closed for now. We do apologize for any inconvenience. Our hope is to reopen the restaurant as soon as possible.

Many of you may know Davide Manzo already. He came here from Italy with his Mother in March 1970 and they established themselves in Pittsfield. He is a man of many talents and great wisdom. Cooking with the brick oven he made was his greatest passion. In 1997 He helped build and assisted in the creation of Trattoria il Vesuvio in Lenox, MA. In 2001 he opened Trattoria Rustica on McKay Street in Pittsfield, MA. Over the years many have traveled from a far to experience the restaurant and have come to love Davide and the Trattoria. He made a home away from home for many. The staff, and the patrons have become family; and he has become a staple in the community.

On March 31st Davide opened the restaurant to host a private dinner for long time regulars. Halfway through the dinner Davide fell ill and was brought to BMC. He was having heart failure and BMC was unsure that he would make it through the night. The next day his heart failed and he flatlined. Thankfully the doctors and staff were able to bring him back and stabilize him and brought him to Baystate. While at the hospital he was sedated for 10 days to stabilize him for heart surgery. They really weren’t sure if he was going to make it or not. He pulled through and stabilized enough for the heart surgery. After the surgery he was taken off of sedation and has been transferred out of Baystate for rehabilitation. He still needs one more heart surgery when he’s well enough for it and He has a long road of recovery.

We are asking for donations to ease the financial burdens for Davide. He has heavy medical bills, a mortgage, and more to come along. The best thing for him to do right now is heal and keep his stress levels low so that he can undergo the next procedure and eventually get back home to the people, places and things that he loves.

Anything helps, even a share. Any contribution is appreciated and can be made through his cash app or Venmo. We also created Davide a GoFundMe as well.
