Against many odds I’ve made it deep into this competition where I need to sell votes for myself. I’ve been feeling torn about really selling it and begging because I know money is tight and the world is a totally messed up place. ONE VOTE IS FREE. Taking 2 minutes to vote for me gives me the chance to win $25k and completely change my life. For those of you who are new to Bitter Ends, here is a bit about me:
My name is Becca, I’m a person. I’ve learned to cook and bake from some of the greatest people and places, , my Grammy . I opened a breakfast restaurant in 2017 in a race against time to show my mother a vision before she died of ALS. I never had money to begin with, leasing a hole in the wall, collecting decor from thrift stores, hand me-downs, no burners. Sue passed away before making it to the luncheonette and I continued to honor her with food, decor, vibes, and chaos with the restaurant until 2022. I’m a 3 times nominated, 2017 best new restaurant in the USA, and I have always made it a priority over profit to treat people with respect, to be a safe space for people to gather and a supporting good part of our community. I’ve battled business partners who stole, trusted in people who betrayed me and am left with some debt from learning lessons the hard way. Winning this prize would completely wipe out my debt and allow me to acquire loans that would give me the opportunity to open a sustainable breakfast spot. I don’t like asking for things, I don’t like needing help and this is a long shot…BUT every dog has their day!
If I dont win I will continue to do pop ups for a few years until I can figure it all out and I love and appreciate everyone who comes out to support me through these things.
