Good morning, Fitz Willy's friends and family, as well as all of my friends and family.

First, I want to sincerely thank each and every one of you for the love, support, and encouragement you've shown over the years. Your kindness has meant more to me and my family than words can express.

I also wanted to share an update with everyone. Since closing the shop, life has taken an unexpected turn. I have recently been diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer. While this is certainly a difficult journey, I am staying positive and determined to fight with the help of some of the best medical professionals available.

Right now, I am doing well, and I remain hopeful as we move forward with treatment. I kindly ask for your continued thoughts and prayers during this challenging time. They mean the world to us.

As a family, we ask that you please respect our privacy as we navigate the road ahead. I will share periodic updates as I am able. In the meantime, please know how grateful we are for your love, support, and prayers.

Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts. We truly appreciate each and every one of you.

Well, my wonderful wife has reached SSC Status, for those not sure what that means…. Today she turns 65 years young and is now officially a Sexy Senior Citizen. Congrats on reaching this esteemed status, I knew you could do it. By the way folks she believes that she can now say, do, and react any way she wants. She is channeling her inner Esther(her mother) so be fore warned. Happy Birthday kid I love you!

Huge shoutout to Baked with Love for absolutely showing off at our final day party. The cake? Unreal. The cookies and pastries? Let’s just say “self-control” was not invited and didn’t show up.

Everything was completely over the top—in the best way possible. Our guests and customers were beyond impressed… and a few may or may not have been plotting how to sneak extra boxes out the door (we saw you 👀). The variety alone was enough to make grown adults forget all basic manners.

To all of our Fitz Willys friends and family—

Well… this is it. The grand finale. The last call. The “we swear we’re not crying, it’s just the smoker smoke” kind of day.

Today is officially the last day of takeout service here at Fitz Willys… and somehow you all turned a couple of people cooking food into a place full of stories, laughs, sarcasm, and friendships we didn’t expect but are incredibly grateful for.

You came in as customers… and stayed because either:
1. You loved the food
2. You loved the abuse
3. Or you just didn’t feel like cooking (we respect that)

Either way—we appreciate the hell out of you.

We’ve shared a lot over the last couple of years:
Good meals, bad jokes, probably a few questionable life decisions… and somehow you all kept coming back. That’s on you.

To all of our Fitz Willys friends and family,

We are sad to announce that our last day of operation at the shop will be Thursday, April 30, 2026.

Unfortunately, I’m dealing with some medical issues — bilateral degenerative osteoarthritis in both hips, along with bursitis in both hips and my lower back. Nothing life-threatening… but let’s just say my body has officially filed a complaint about standing on concrete for 12 hours a day.

As much as I’d like to argue with it, this is one argument I’m not winning.

This decision was not easy. We’ve been incredibly fortunate to serve what we truly believe are the best customers around. Over the past two years, you’ve supported us, laughed with us, and kept us going even on the long days.

It has meant more than we can ever properly say.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you — from me, Lori, and Madi. You’ve been more than customers… you’ve been family.

We’ll be open through Thursday, so if you’ve got one more meal in you (or just want to stop in and say hi), we’d love to see you and thank you in person.
