*Members include men and women of all backgrounds that are business individuals or entrepreneurs and are affiliated with any college.*

***We are open to non-members for events such as rehearsal dinners, showers, weddings, business gatherings, etc.***

Originally established in 1930, the Allegheny HYP Club today is the cumulative merger of three premier city clubs that helped shape Pittsburgh: Th

e Harvard Yale Princeton Club, The Pittsburgh Club (merged 1997), and The Allegheny Club (merged 2002). For over 85 years, the Club’s members who include leaders of business, finance, education, government, medicine, and the arts, have cherished the Club due to the personal attention and exceptional service they receive. Surrounded by elegant furnishings and works of art in an historic venue, members and their guests enjoy fine dining, social events, private conferences, evening lounge, and event facilities.

Hi There,

Here's what coming to the AHYP Club in the coming days and weeks. Make plans to join us, ok? Information on these and our other events can be found here: https://www.alleghenyhypclub.com/membership1-1

Tomorrow night we have our First Friday Cocktails & Networking event. It runs from 5-8pm and we've got a good number of sign ups thus far. Come have a drink and meet a few people.

Also happening tomorrow night is our Comedy Improv night. Three of Pittsburgh's sharpest improv groups will be entertaining on our second floor with the show beginning at 8pm. It's FREE for members (now we're talking!) and improv is loads of fun. Maybe join and have a laugh or dozen.

We will be closed for a private party on Saturday the 5th. If you happen to be a member of Bethel Park's class of 1996 or just like to crash high school reunions, then feel free to come.

Thursday, September 10th will see the return of the Pittsburgh Committee on Foreign Relations. The talk will feature remarks by Vice Admiral Richard Seif, Commander Submarine Forces.

On Wednesday, September 23rd our Pittsburgh History Series returns with a presentation about famed photographer Charles "Teenie" Harris. Teenie captured Pittsburgh life, primarily in the city's black communities, for the Pittsburgh Courier. His work has become renowned for providing a window into the culture, lives, etc. of the community from the 1930s and onward. His archives are available to view at the Carnegie Museum of Art. In short, he was a pretty big deal! Join us as we learn more about Mr. Harris from family members of his.

There's a club membership open house happening on Thursday, September 24th. We open the doors to folks who are considering social club membership and show the place off. It's always nice to have current members here who can share their experiences with those that are interested.

Are you a fan of robots? C-3PO or WALL-E really do something for you? Well, I don't think they'll be part of the discussion on Tuesday, September 29th, but find out for yourself as the Pittsburgh Business Club (founded by AHYP Club members) has a talk "When Are Robots Justified?". The CEO of SKA Robotics will be here to lead the presentation.

Here are some events coming up in October. I'll expand upon them in future postings but figure you're just about tired of reading at this point.

Make Your Own Cocktails night Friday, October 9th
Murder Mystery Dinner Theater Friday, October 9th
LIVE JAZZ performance Saturday, October 10th
Salsa lesson and dancing Saturday, October 10th

Alright, so listen, no excuses. There's plenty of things going on that surely something must float your boat. So, come out and join us!

Have a good holiday weekend,
Dave

Hi There,

Here are some upcoming events at the old AHYP Club. Please consider joining us! Info on these and other events can be found here: https://www.alleghenyhypclub.com/membership1-1

Friday, September 4th will be a night of two events. First Friday Cocktails & Networking will be happening that night from 5-8pm. Afterwards, at 8pm, we'll have a comedy improv show. The improv show is free to AHYP members and a lot of fun. Assuming you like to laugh, that is.

Wednesday, September 23rd will be the next installment of our Pittsburgh History Series. This time the subject is the famously talented photographer, Teenie Harris. Teenie was well-known for capturing scenes of life among the black community of Pittsburgh with much of his work appearing in the Pittsburgh Courier. Join us as relatives of Teenie talk about his work, life and legacy. I'll have a link to sign up soon.

We're hosting a club membership open house on Thursday, September 24th. We open the doors of the club to show the place off to potential new members. It's always nice to have some current members here to give the place life and let interested, prospective, members have some folks to talk with.

Friday, October 9th we have a couple of events going on. The popular and always fun Make Your Own Cocktails event returns. Matthew will teach you how to make three, fall-appropriate cocktails. And of course the best part is you get to drink your creations!

Also happening on October 9th is the return of the murder mystery dinner theater! Prepare to enjoy a nice dinner and a little murder mystery as Pittsburgh's best theater troop returns to entertain here at the AHYP. The show's called "Robin Hood Ain't Looking So Good" and promises to be a great time!

Saturday, October 10th is another day with a couple of different things going on at your club. First, that afternoon from 4-6pm we'll have vocalist Jessica Lee and jazz pianist Rick Gallagher entertaining.

Later that evening of October 10th, we're hosting a Salsa Night. We'll have both an introductory lesson and then an evening of Latin music so you can show off your newly-learned moves.

We've got other October events on the docket as well but I didn't want to overwhelm you. Please consider joining us for a few of these and I know you'll have a good time.

Have a good evening,

Dave
