Hi There,
Here's what coming to the AHYP Club in the coming days and weeks. Make plans to join us, ok? Information on these and our other events can be found here: https://www.alleghenyhypclub.com/membership1-1
Tomorrow night we have our First Friday Cocktails & Networking event. It runs from 5-8pm and we've got a good number of sign ups thus far. Come have a drink and meet a few people.
Also happening tomorrow night is our Comedy Improv night. Three of Pittsburgh's sharpest improv groups will be entertaining on our second floor with the show beginning at 8pm. It's FREE for members (now we're talking!) and improv is loads of fun. Maybe join and have a laugh or dozen.
We will be closed for a private party on Saturday the 5th. If you happen to be a member of Bethel Park's class of 1996 or just like to crash high school reunions, then feel free to come.
Thursday, September 10th will see the return of the Pittsburgh Committee on Foreign Relations. The talk will feature remarks by Vice Admiral Richard Seif, Commander Submarine Forces.
On Wednesday, September 23rd our Pittsburgh History Series returns with a presentation about famed photographer Charles "Teenie" Harris. Teenie captured Pittsburgh life, primarily in the city's black communities, for the Pittsburgh Courier. His work has become renowned for providing a window into the culture, lives, etc. of the community from the 1930s and onward. His archives are available to view at the Carnegie Museum of Art. In short, he was a pretty big deal! Join us as we learn more about Mr. Harris from family members of his.
There's a club membership open house happening on Thursday, September 24th. We open the doors to folks who are considering social club membership and show the place off. It's always nice to have current members here who can share their experiences with those that are interested.
Are you a fan of robots? C-3PO or WALL-E really do something for you? Well, I don't think they'll be part of the discussion on Tuesday, September 29th, but find out for yourself as the Pittsburgh Business Club (founded by AHYP Club members) has a talk "When Are Robots Justified?". The CEO of SKA Robotics will be here to lead the presentation.
Here are some events coming up in October. I'll expand upon them in future postings but figure you're just about tired of reading at this point.
Make Your Own Cocktails night Friday, October 9th
Murder Mystery Dinner Theater Friday, October 9th
LIVE JAZZ performance Saturday, October 10th
Salsa lesson and dancing Saturday, October 10th
Alright, so listen, no excuses. There's plenty of things going on that surely something must float your boat. So, come out and join us!
Have a good holiday weekend,
Dave
