August Scoops For Good partner is Garfield Community Farm. For the Month of August we will be donating $2/scoop of our Sweet Corn Caramel flavor, one of our Garden Series flavors.

Garfield Community Farm (GCF) is a place-based nonprofit located in and serving the Garfield community. Since 2009, they’ve worked to advance food sovereignty, environmental justice, and neighborhood resiliency in Garfield. GCF accomplishes this by increasing access to fresh produce and educational opportunities with its neighbors and volunteers, and by demonstrating ecological restoration through urban agriculture in the Garfield neighborhood.

They grow and distribute 1600+ pounds of affordable, organic produce within Garfield, support 1000+ youth and adults annually.

Introducing our Garden Series with Sweet Corn Caramel. This beautiful scoop features roasted sweet corn from our pals Triple B Farms Official! We think it’s best with our house-made caramel sauce, so it’s included on top. For the photo we added oatmeal lace crumbs because why not, they are exquisite.

Our high holy day is approaching, friends. This Sunday, August 3, the year of our goddess, 2026 is National Ice Cream Sandwich Day! And to mark this auspicious occasion we are doing a fun little giveaway!

Did you know Leona’s was named after our first dog together? She was a boxer and a gem. Christa grew up with boxers and loved the breed. Leona was my first dog, and from the moment we rescued her I was hooked.

That’s why this month’s Scoops For Good donations go to Adopt A Boxer Rescue. Come to the scoop shop tomorrow get a scoop of Puppy Tracks and $2/scoop goes to AABR. Between 2-4 you can meet one of their volunteers and some sweet pups. One is available for adoption!

Puppy story time:
We got Leona at 10 and she was with us until the day after we sold our first ice cream sandwich. After Leona came Ember, another rescue boxer who stole our hearts. We had her for 9 years and still aren’t over it.

The came sweet Twyla Jean and our first experience with Adopt a Boxer Rescue. She was a breeder dog and was used for years before they discarded her. She was 10 and we knew we wouldn’t have her for a long time, so we made sure it was a good time. She was a big girl with a big personality.

After saying goodbye we went back to AABR and found our newest maniac, Penny Lou. She’s 4, she was a breeder dog but when she couldn’t produce, they dumped her. Now she’s ours and we are in love.

Anyways dogs are the best.

Join us and the Kindred Spirit Tattoo co. in collaboration with Coven of Misfits for a Pride Patio party TOMORROW from 12-10pm! Ice cream, drag, flash and BBQ!

Kindred will be offering pride flash designs from 12-7, and the first 30 people tattooed get a free scoop token to redeem at our shop!

We have super fun Pride treats and half off rainbow flights all Sunday! The Kindred patio will be open all day to relax, enjoy your ice-cream, get some BBQ, and sign up for your tattoo!

At 7pm, the patio party will really heat up with drag performances by Pittsburgh’s own Coven of Misfits featuring (and more to be announced), as well as a lil solo performance by Kindred’s own Bonnie Ramone of bonnie & the mere mortals doing some over her own originals and crowd karaoke!!
