It gives us SO much joy to FINALLY announce that our brand new kitchen is READY! We’ve got twice the space, shiny brand new equipment, an upgraded menu, and a burning desire to fill yinz bellies! Swing through soon next time you’re dahn Southside and grab an old menu stalwart or try one of our new soon-to-be-classics and find a new fav.

so we are very limited in our food offerings compared to Six Nations past. We’ll have hot dogs and bagels, but yinz are more than welcome to Bring Your Own Breakfast or order food dahn to the Pub! We fully anticipate having the kitchen up and running in time to serve some awesome brunch this month, and we’ll let yinz know the moment we’re back up.

Ben Carozza’s Annual Six Nations Gear Drive is also making its return, providing rugby gear to youth teams across Allegheny County. Bring in some previously-loved jerseys, boots, headgear, or any other equipment clogging your closet, and Ben will shake your hand and buy you a b**r!

🚨 RUGGERS KITCHEN UPDATE 🚨

We’re so close we can *almost* taste it. Yinz are long overdue for an update, and we’re thrilled to say we’ll be cooking for yinz SOON! This project has been ENORMOUS, and has run into all sorts of Southside construction surprises, extending our timeline way past what anyone expected. At this point, we’ve got walls, plumbing, sinks, gas, brand new equipment, a floor, a ceiling, a custom fabricated beast of a hood, a upgraded menu, and plenty more of yesterday’s headaches we’ve collectively blocked from our memory. We’re a few inspections away (and a visit from DLC 🤞) from being BACK AND BETTER THAN EVER!

💛 We appreciate every one of yinz that came dahn during these Dog Days of Ruggers, had some drinks, brought some food in, or checked up on our progress. Extra special shoutout to the Ruggalos and Ruggalettes that have lived off hot dogs, not letting the kitchen’s absence disturb their drinking schedule, and kept the heart of this place beating all winter. We love yinz so much, and can’t wait to cook for you soo freakin’ soon. 💛🖤

🚨BREAKING RUGGERS NEWS BULLETIN 🚨

We’re going through changes dahn here, and finally getting the kitchen we, and yinz, deserve! If you’ve ever peeked in our back of house, you know we outgrew it a decade ago. The permits are valid, the equipment is ordered, and Ruggs is about to get a major culinary makeover! We appreciate every one of yinz that has supported us and made this project possible, and we can’t wait to get back to serving yinz the Best Pub Grub in Pittsburgh!

🚨The Pub will REMAIN OPEN with the SAME HOURS throughout the construction, and we’ll have Hot Dawgs, Vegan Dawgs, and Bar Snacks to satiate your munchies during our Renovation Era👷‍♂️. 🌭 🚨

🍴Our kitchen will be back with an upgraded menu in December, featuring Ruggers Staples, Favorite Specials, Crunchwraps, and expanded Vegan Choices that we promise will be worth the wait! 🔪

We’re bursting with pride dahn Southside right now, and couldn’t be more grateful to all the Ruggers, Ruggulars, Ruggalos, and RuggRats that voted for us in Pittsburgh City Paper Best of 2025!

🌟It’s not the bar, b**r, or food that make us the Best Sports Bar in Pittsburgh, it’s every one of yinz that bring enthusiasm, energy, and a genuine appreciation for our home. It’s our staff (who WE think are 2nd to none 😉) that strive to make every guest welcome, safe, seen, and satisfied. It’s our homies that aren’t with us anymore, but have cultivated a culture that can’t be duplicated. It’s the various communities that call Ruggers Pub “home base”, and know they’ll be greeted with a smile every time they need one. 💫
