About us
Sweet Pea Transport is an LLC started by Elizabeth Wilson as a vision to help small farmers and fisherman. Having worked in agricultural education for 35 years and having a small landscape business for 20 years she has seen a big change in the agricultural industry. She grew up on a 1000 acre farm two hours from the coast and remembers her parents summer shrimp run to the beach. Her parents grew a large vegetable garden and the freezer was always full. A once a week treat was fried NC shrimp out of the freezer.
Beth recently visited Norway to study the ocean farm raised salmon. She has read numerous articles about imported farm raised shrimp. As research progresses in aquaculture she believes the products will improve. In the meantime there has been a resurgence of wild shrimp populations in NC due to state restrictions. This year the shrimp are large and more plentiful.
