And our final new addition to the 2026 Quiltmaker Cafe board, Marilyn Moore:
Marilyn lived in Bath, NC, for most of her life. It’s a small town much like Pittsboro. She farmed, raising to***co and children. In 1993, Marilyn graduated from ECU in Greenville and taught school in both Washington and Beaufort counties. She was awarded Teacher of the Year at her individual schools and Teacher of the Year for Beaufort County. Her children started going to various colleges around the triangle, so she made a move to Cary and taught at Holly Springs. Marilyn was also Teacher of the Year there, just before retiring.
Marilyn is very involved with St. Bartholomew's Episcopal Church, including Community Lunch. Her children are all grown now and volunteering is a rewarding pastime. Quiltmakers is very dear to her heart. Helping others is what it’s all about!
I have personally known Marilyn for years from volunteering together at Community Lunch. She has one of the biggest hearts I have ever known. But don't think she won't straighten you out in a second if you need it! LoL probably part of what made her such a great teacher. I have left Community Lunch many, many, times with a full heart and stomach cramps from laughing so hard with the amazing people there. Marilyn, you are incredible and Pittsboro would not be the same without you ❤
