We have been in the business of baking for over 25 years and are backed by almost 100 years of baking experience. The local origin of the Bear ClawBakery can be traced back to1912, When Albert Hoeffer opened a bakery on 4th and MacDonald in downtown Richmond. Albert, and son Ben, continued the old world recipes and original ways of making traditional pastries, cakes and breads. For over 60 years t

heir bakery provided the rapidly growing local community with popular, quality baked goods. That tradition has been carried on through the present at the Bear Claw Bakery in Pinole as Mike and Terri Hoeffer-Stott maintain the family heritage of using fresh, high-quality ingredients, the daily baking and providing personal service. Along with this past tradition is the continuing evolution of the Bear Claw Bakery products and services to reflect the changing tastes of its patrons and community. A new generation of Stotts are being trained to learn how to carry on the family baking tradition. along with sisters Lucie and Gracie help out parents Mike and Terri at the bakery. In fact, it is not uncommon to walk in and see up to three generations of the Hoeffer family working side by side at the bakery. Good morning, everyoneee! ☀️🐻 Even on a gloomy day such as today, there's always a bit of sunshine somewhere to be found!

And that ray of sunshine is a special shout-out to Ms. Suess and her Kindergarten Class of 2025-2026 from Collins Elementary School! They surprised us with this beautifully crafted work of donuts painted by each student!

One of our favorite traditions every year is welcoming local classes into Bear Claw for a behind-the-scenes bakery adventure. The students get to peek inside our kitchen, learn a little about what we do, and even roll up their sleeves to create some delicious pastries of their own. Watching their smiles, excitement, and silliness fill the bakery is one of the sweetest parts of why we do these trips!

Thank you for again , Ms. Suess and your beloved Kindergarten class for sharing your artwork with us which we have proudly displayed for everyone to see!

HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE ! Thank you all for making us part of your Easter this year by purchasing cakes, dinner rolls, cupcakes, any sweet treats or goodies in celebration of today! And not to mention, the oh so popular Hot Cross Buns, that remained a hit with soo many people this season with constant request and rebates throughout the day! 😋
