Luce loves Superheroes! A lot! And our staff, or The Perch Fam as we call them, have been above & beyond HEROIC.

For exactly 12 weeks today, they have held up The Perch and done everything behind the scenes to keep the gears turning while Luce braves on in the hospital. We are to Jupiter and back proud of The Perch flock flying, and most of all, forever grateful. They are keeping the lights on, the doors open, and the spirit of our vibrant public house alive & well. And they’ve done it with a whole lot of heart. To each and every HERO of our Perch Fam, we thank you with ALL of ours. 🫶

We too thank all the loved locals that have helped out and given pizzazz to pitch into the pub! We thank everyone who has come out to come in, and we thank everyone for all the LOVE.

Now, we would LOVE for all of you to leave a shout-out to the incredible Perch Heroes in the comments. Share a little love, a favorite story, or a few mushy gushy words of appreciation. Let’s make them blush! After all, superheroes do deserve to know how SUPER they are.

On Sunday, October 4th at 2:00 o’clock, come see our beloved, Batty Sippin’ Seminar! 🦇

An enjoyable presentation led by a loved Pine Mountain local, Jessi Vannatta Ph.D. Jessi is an environmental scientist and a California State Park bat expert! She discovered a passion for bats during graduate school, and has worked closely with them for years! She cannot wait to tell you why bats are so fascinating and important to our mountain!

And, while gaining insight & appreciation for our mosquito eating, upside down sleeping, echo location flying creatures of PMC, sip on a drink from The Perch bar & nibble on something from the kitchen! This is family friendly event! Let’s learn & enjoy libations while doing so!

Greetings Loved Ones,

We are so very grateful for each of you, and your love. Every note, gesture, gift, post, act & prayer is so very meaningful to us, every day. When outreaches reach us—and they do—they fill our souls over the brim.

Forgive us for not writing back or providing more news to everyone more often. We are living in slow motion, lost in shock and leveling with our surreal reality.

Monday will be the 7th week since Luce’s life-saving helicopter flight to the hospital. USC is our bubble, schooling with brilliant brains doting on Luce. They have genius plans galore for Luce’s heart’s healing that we are grappling with, yet before those can be embarked upon, Luce’s lungs have a project to do: recover from an uncommon complication that arose from an IV medicine, Amiodarone, that instigated drastic alveoli inflammation. Astonishingly, Luce wakes up cheerfully, is kind all day, funny too, and looks optimistically ahead at night. The man is so strong & brave.

So we hold on.

Keep the prayers coming. Please keep loving The Perch. We achingly miss home.
