So thankful that even though we have served our last dinner at the WCK, we are still able to help the members of our community! Thank you Florida Food Pantry for being able to distribute our remaining food! ❤️

Thank you Victoria for your generous donation to the pantry! Victoria cofounded the Warwick Community Kitchen as a Girl Scout Gold Project nine years ago. Due to the Covid situation, the Pine Island elementary school asked its occupants to vacate in preparation for the fall. Victoria kindly donated all their remaining goods (back seat was filled too!) to us. All product we regularly distribute!

And kudos to Victoria for your lengthy service to the community. You deserve platinum status! ❤

Never in my dreams did I think that the Warwick Community Kitchen would have stayed around for almost 9 years come November! Today is such a bittersweet day as it is our last dinner for the time being. The school district has asked for the building back, so therefore the WCK is no longer able to run our dinners. We are hoping that we are able to reopen by this time next year in 2021, but there is nothing confirmed as we are all dealing with COVID-19 and its unfortunate effects on everybody's lives.
I would like to say thank you to all of the volunteers, the different organizations, but most of all our guests for making the WCK such a great success. Over the last 9 years we have all become a family! I am truly heartbroken that we are being asked to close down especially during the middle of a pandemic, because I know so many of our guests need the extra help right now because of financial hardships. Please know that even though we are no longer hosting our dinners, if you ever need something please do not hesitate to reach out, and we will do our best to help you or get you in contact with someone who can.
You have all truly made such an impact on my life and made lasting memories that I will cherish forever. If we are indeed able to open again in 2021 we will let everyone know and I hope that you are all able to come and enjoy the dinners as a family once again!
Special thanks to our selfless volunteers that came every single month for the past 9 years:
Jim and Donna Scheuermann, Carrie, Dave, and Rebecca Garloch, Damon, Lynsey Quackenbush, Mark and Patty Glasse and family, Glenn and Susan Dickes, the Torres family, Elizabeth and Sara Higgins, Debbie and Sandy Scheuermann, Dixie Putkowski, the Birch family, the McCormicks and the many other volunteers that have been with us throughout the last 9 years. As well as our many guests that have been with us since the beginning in November of 2011, I will miss everybody dearly. 💕But this is not a goodbye, rather a see you soon!
Love,
Victoria Garloch: Founder and Co-Program DIrector of Warwick Community Kitchen
and the rest of the WCK team!

Dear Warwick Community Kitchen Guests/Family,
Thank you very much for your support of the Warwick Community Kitchen over the last 9 years. What started as a response to feeding our community after Hurricane Irene devastated local agriculture has grown with the support of the community, and various organizations into a mainstay of help for not only Orange County but the surrounding counties.
It is because of your help, and that of dozens of volunteers who put in hundreds of hours, that we have been able to continue to serve monthly meals to hundreds of guests.

We were informed last week that the Warwick Valley Schools need Pine Island Elementary back. We have been asked to vacate the building by August 1, which means that we are no longer able to serve our monthly meals.
We are still having our July 17th dinner consisting of Roasted Pork Loin, Sauerkraut, Veggies, and Bread. We will also be distributing any of our canned goods, and non-perishable foods that we are no longer able to use. If you or anybody you know needs any of these items, please come to the dinner on July 17th to pick up your takeout dinners and other items.

It will be a difficult year for many in our community, for many reasons, and we are sorry to add another.

It is our profound hope to re-open when allowed by the School District.

Thank you again. Through your generosity, countless lives have been changed for the better.
Sincerely,
Victoria Garloch and the rest of the WCK Team!
