Join us in honoring the life and lasting legacy of Pat Fitts, a true champion of Arkansas conservation and a 2026 Arkansas Outdoor Hall of Fame inductee. 🌿
Pat devoted 32 years to the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission, beginning his journey bushhogging levees as a high school hatchery technician and rising through the ranks to become the agency’s 18th Director. A highly decorated officer, he earned "Wildlife Officer of the Year" honors for both Arkansas and the Southeastern United States while serving as Colonel of Enforcement.
Throughout his career, Pat led with humility and heart. As Director, he guided the agency through the challenges of the pandemic, helped bring the J.B. and Johnelle Hunt Ozark Highlands Nature Center to life, and was instrumental in establishing the Foundation’s Get It for Game Wardens program.
Though Pat passed away in August 2025, his deep devotion to protecting Arkansas's wildlife lives on in the natural state he loved so dearly.
Let’s gather to celebrate Pat’s incredible life, legacy, and induction alongside all of this year’s honorees at the 2026 Arkansas Outdoor Hall of Fame Banquet.
