Mahalo for trusting us with your catering and all your food truck events!
Anyone who has ever owned a business especially a food truck knows the amount of hard work, sacrifice, and long hours that go into making it all happen.
In my experience, what carries people through not only business but life itself is their WHY. There is usually a purpose bigger than themselves that keeps them moving forward when things get difficult.
For Faith's Hawaiian Kitchen, that WHY is simple: an Ohana brought together by a shared passion to love and serve our brothers and sisters experiencing homelessness, to remind them that they are seen, valued, and loved.
This past week and a half was a perfect example of our WHY in action. Last Sunday alone, we had one food truck event with Big Blue and two catering jobs all in the same day. There were countless hours of preparation, cooking, and nearly 40 hours of working straight through. Yet none of it felt like work.
Why?
Because every plate served and every event completed gave us the opportunity to provide at Washington Street Shelter this past Wednesday. Every meal represented someone being cared for, encouraged, and reminded that they matter.
So when you hire Faith's Hawaiian Kitchen for your catering or food truck event, you're doing more than purchasing great food. You're helping Faith's Hawaiian Kitchen, in partnership with Walk By Faith Ministries, a 501(c)(3), create meaningful impact right here in our local community.
💙 You're not just buying a meal you're investing in impact. 💙 You're helping us love our community louder. 💙 Together, we're serving change, one plate at a time, serving Aloha through Action!
Mahalo for being part of
It was one of those moments where God lets you step back and see seeds planted long ago beginning to bloom.
Thank you to all 25 volunteers who came out with willing hearts to love and serve.
Together we served 220 residents, went through over 2,000 water balloons, shared food, laughter, prayers, hugs, conversations, and moments that mattered deeply.
But what stays with me most are the stories.
Last year we met Brother James while serving on the streets. Yesterday, Brother James was the one serving all of us…passing out water, watermelon, and snacks with so much joy.
To witness that kind of transformation, hope, and purpose is something words can hardly capture.
Then there’s Brother Derek, who we first met during our wedding outreach.
Now he is preparing to graduate his program and move to California, yet he came back just to see all of us again.
He remembered our conversations, encouraged us, and is already praying for the truck to be finished so we can make the katsu and can keep serving the community in even bigger ways.
These are the moments.
Not the numbers.
Not the photos. Not even the 2,000 water balloons.
It’s the reminders that people are seen. That relationships matter.
That prayer works. That God is moving in ways we may not always notice right away.
Thank you for being the hands and feet of Jesus. 🩵💙🩵💙🩵💙🩵💙🩵
