It’s not fall yet in Phoenix. I know it is, but it isn’t. And October is THE BEST time of year for an ice cream bus visit, Phoenicians!
The temps are warm but not scorching, the sunsets are stunning almost nightly. Everyone is coming outside again after of our summer hibernation. We’ve made it!
We’ve been booking up with fall festivals, neighborhood events and birthday parties on weekends and evenings, but we have some availability next week on Monday (10/13) and Wednesday (10/15) for a couple employee / client appreciation events in the daytime. We have some time the week of 10/20 as well…
It’s a fun, easy and affordable* way to show a little love.

My poor Buster! 😔

We were on our way to an event on Wednesday when his engine shut down while we were going down the I-10 freeway. Unfortunately this time it’s not going to be an easy fix… we need a whole new engine! 😭

I’ll post updates on the progress as we know more. We’re hoping we’ll only be out for about two weeks… 🤞🏻

We’d like to give a big shout out to the fellas over at Thank you so much. We’d been stranded in the southbound right turn lane at 48th St at Broadway for four hours waiting for other tow truck drivers that never showed up. I called Magnum and they were hooking Buster up in 30 minutes. They’re quick to respond, professional and knowledgeable, and they’re also really nice. Marvin and Edwin are brothers trying to build a new small family business and they deserve all our support. I hope you never need a tow truck but if you do, don’t waste your time with anybody else. These guys are the best!

This is all so disappointing, and I won’t say I didn’t spend yesterday wallowing and crying. But I also know I’m so lucky for several reasons:
🍦This didn’t happen last week when it was 120 degrees. It was only 95 and cloudy so it wasn’t horrible.
🚌 I had lots of time to study for my Owning and Operating a Small Business class final… and I’m happy to report I got an 86% on it and a 95% final grade in the class! (maybe I can own and operate a small business after all… 🤔)
🍦Frances was with me so I can introduce you to her. She’s helping out this summer with some of our social media and was on board to get a few shots for some new posts. Her dad came to her rescue when we realized it was going to take a bit longer than we originally thought. Thanks
🚌 We could’ve landed in a much more dangerous place. I never felt like we weren’t safe since we made it off the freeway. I even had some help from a young man that redirected traffic until we got our cones out. We gave him some lunch money and of course a couple frosty treats for his kindness. 💛

I’m outside in the backyard reflecting on my long, happy, exhausting, beautiful day and wanted to share Ithe really sweet compliment I got from a little girl at my first school today. She told me, “you’re nice and I want you to be my mommy’s friend”. 😍 What a little sweetheart and I can’t think of a bigger compliment. She melted my heart… like a Bomb Pop in July! 😜 Kids are pretty cool!

Later today, to celebrate Cinco de Mayo (and since ChocoTacos have gone adios) I’ll be checking out the homemade version at my local ice cream shop . It’s reasearch… I HAVE to do this! 🤤
