(929)

Gertrude Divine Webster, an environmentalist ahead of her time, founded the Desert Botanical Garden in 1939. Webster, in conjunction with a small group of Valley citizens, gathered in Papago Park to create a botanical garden to educate, understand, appreciate, and promote the uniqueness of the Sonoran Desert. Webster foresaw the potential to create a distinctive identity for the Phoenix area by en

visioning the need to conserve the beautiful desert. Gertrude’s brings the best Arizona has to offer by utilizing fresh ingredients directly from the farm and pasture to the plate. The menu showcases local ingredients from artisans and farmers around Arizona and the Southwest. Gertrude’s offers diners an authentic seasonal experience with top-quality food, libations, and service. The focus is on a uniquely local experience complete with cuisine, wine, and garden ambience. A full complement of highly rated beer, wine, and spirits meld perfectly with the changing cuisine. And as an added feature, Gertrude’s sources fresh herbs and vegetables from their patio and the community garden located on property at the Desert Botanical Garden. Open lunch, dinner, and weekend brunch.
