Let us explain something...
Five years ago, we became the owners of Caffe Boa Ahwatukee.
Five weeks later, Charlotte was born.
She's never known a world where this restaurant wasn't part of her life, and in many ways, they've grown up together.
If you've been coming here for a while, you've watched it happen. You've seen her as a baby asleep in a carrier, taking her first steps through the dining room, coloring at the bar, "helping" around the restaurant, and eventually becoming the little girl who could somehow pronounce Ahwatukee perfectly at two years old. (Honestly, I know adults who still can't. ๐)
There are so many little traditions that have become part of this place over the last five years, and one of our favorites involves our friend, Liza.
Every year since Charlotte's very first birthday, Liza has brought us birthday cakes, this incredible one comes from AJ's Fine Foods, for everyone to enjoy. Not because anyone asked her to. Simply because that's the kind of person she is, and that's the kind of community that has grown around this restaurant.
That's really what this weekend is about.
It's not just celebrating Charlotte turning five. It's celebrating five years of memories with the people who have watched her grow up right alongside this restaurant. Many of you have been part of that story from the very beginning, and for that, we'll never be able to thank you enough.
So thank you, Liza, for continuing a tradition that means so much to our family. And thank you to every guest who has supported us over these last five years. Whether you've been here since day one or just found us last week, you're part of this story now, too.
Happy Birthday, Charlotte. โค๏ธ
