It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our beloved John Montalvo II.

John meant so much to our family, and over the years, so many of our Kay’s Kafe customers and friends became part of that extended family as well. We know many of you knew him, shared conversations with him, and have memories of your own.

We invite our friends, family, and Kay’s Kafe community to join us as we celebrate his life and the legacy he leaves behind. Service and reception information can be found in the announcement below.

Thank you for all of the love, prayers, calls, messages, and support you have shown our family during this difficult time. It truly means more than we can say.

With love,
The Montalvo Family & Kay’s Kafe ❤️

In loving memory of Juan “John” Montalvo II, who passed away peacefully on August 13, 2026, at the remarkable age of 86.

Born in Del Rio, Texas, and raised in La Puente, California, as the fourth of six children to Juan and Dolores Montalvo, John built a life defined by hard work, deep devotion, and an unwavering commitment to his family. In 1992, he brought his entrepreneurial spirit to Arizona, where he successfully owned and operated Agape Builders and later United Southwest Construction.

Above all of his professional accomplishments, John’s greatest legacy is his family and the nearly 68 years of beautiful marriage he shared with his beloved wife, Trini.

He leaves behind a vast and adoring family to cherish his memory:
His Wife: Trini Montalvo
His Children & Their Spouses: Juan “John” III (Theresa), Lisa, and Kristine (Joseph)
13 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren

“Those we love don’t go away, they walk beside us every day. Unseen, unheard, but always near, still loved, still missed, and very dear.” Author Unknown

May his memory be a blessing, and may his strength and love live on in the generations he leaves behind.
