Nostalgia…“If it ain’t broken don’t fix it” 🌮 🌯 🫔 🇲🇽 .
Vintage vinyl booths, glowing neon, and plates covered in red or green chile give this Arcadia dining room the comfortable feel of a longtime neighborhood tradition. The restaurant opened in 1958, and Tony and Anna Durán took over the business in 1960, beginning a family legacy that continues today. Much of the old-school atmosphere remains, including Formica tables, signed celebrity photographs, and a patio equipped for both warm afternoons and cooler desert evenings.
The current menu spans crispy cheese crisps, machaca tacos and burros, enchiladas, tamales, fajitas, chimichangas, Sonora-style stacked enchiladas, and Nana’s chile relleno. First-time visitors can sample several classics through the Original Daily Special, which combines a ground beef taco, cheese-and-onion enchilada, bean tostada, rice, and beans. Another conversation starter is the Presidential Special, named after George W. Bush ordered its two cheese enchiladas during a 2004 visit. Have you been here?
