this is a long one, so please bear with us...
Meta's new algorithms "throttle" content they perceive as unoriginal. that is, the platform will not recommend content that is a repost of another account's work regardless of whether or not attribution/credit is given to the creator. we get it. the intent is to promote original creation and possibly deter the theft of intellectual property. but here's the thing:
we are sandwich makers, not social media influencers. we don't create content to "convert views to purchases." we spread cheez whiz and grilled onions and that delightful smell of meat on a sizzling grill wafting on to South St.
we joined this platform not to elevate our visibility or force-feed our "brand message" to potential customers. we joined in the hope of celebrating the unique culinary, social, architectural, and artistic community that has embraced us since we opened our doors nearly 50 years ago. we joined because the cheesesteak community and culture is a central pillar of our street, our neighborhood, and our city. thanks to you, that community has never been stronger.
YOU are the folks who capture the Philly magic in photos and video... in your posts and reels and stories and comments and messages. we are incredibly flattered and grateful.
tl:dr, we will continue to share your contributions as our primary mode of communication, giving credit where due and keeping the spirit and substance of original contributions intact. thank you for helping to spread the word!

p. s. pretty sure this'll get throttled too...🤣
