🏮 For one night, Chinatown becomes one giant open-air dinner party.

This Thursday, the streets of Philadelphia’s Chinatown will fill with the sights, smells and sounds of the 2026 YèShì Chinatown Night Market, an annual fall tradition that turns the neighborhood into a sprawling celebration of food, culture and community.

From 6–10 p.m. on October 8, more than 90 vendors will take over the area around 10th and Race Streets, bringing together Chinatown restaurants, food trucks, local makers, artists and community organizations. Come hungry: you’ll find everything from dumplings, Peking duck and barbecue to ramen, bubble tea, desserts and plenty of things you probably didn’t know you needed to try. 🍜🥟🧋

And it’s not just about eating. Expect shopping, arts and crafts, live entertainment and plenty of reasons to linger as Chinatown comes alive after dark.

Admission is FREE, with food, drinks and vendor purchases available on a pay-as-you-go basis.

🚧 Planning to drive? Take note: street closures begin at 2 p.m.

Closures are expected to remain until 11:30 p.m., so SEPTA is your best bet. Download the SEPTA app to find the fastest route and skip the parking headache. 🚇

We are on the parkway at 22nd St.

Philadelphia does not exactly ease into the Fourth of July. It throws the whole city into celebration mode. The One Philly Unity Concert for America, part of Wawa Welcome America, takes over the Benjamin Franklin Parkway on July 4, 2026, as the massive finale to what Visit Philly calls the nation’s largest Independence Day celebration. This is the monster of Pennsylvania’s America 250 events, with a 16-day citywide festival, free events, a major parade, six nights of fireworks, and a finale that ends with fireworks over the Philadelphia Museum of Art and skyline at 11:45 p.m. It is Philly at full volume, with music, history, crowds, food, flags, and that feeling that the whole country’s birthday party somehow got handed to one city that absolutely knows how to make noise.

If you are heading in early, the Parkway gives you plenty to make a whole day of it. The Philadelphia Museum of Art, Rocky Steps, Rocky Statue, Franklin Institute, Barnes Foundation, Rodin Museum, and Eastern State Penitentiary are all nearby or close enough to build into the trip. For food, Reading Terminal Market is the obvious Philly classic, especially if you want roast pork, cheesesteaks, Amish baked goods, or something you will think about later in traffic. You can also work in spots around Center City like The Dandelion, Parc, Sabrina’s Cafe, or a quick Old City detour toward Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell, because if you are going to celebrate America’s 250th in Philadelphia, you might as well be dramatic about it.
