"Roast and Toast Cafe recently donated a considerable amount of coffee to Friendship Centers of Emmet County’s (FCEC) Meals on Wheels clients. The inspiration for this donation began during FCEC’s Community Champions Week when Melissa volunteered delivering Meals. During her route, she recognized several seniors who used to regularly visit Roast & Toast but are no longer able to get out and enjoy their favorite coffee shop. Seeing firsthand the challenges many homebound seniors face inspired Melissa and the team at Roast & Toast to give back in a meaningful way. FCEC’s Outreach & Development Director, Kayla, spent the morning helping bag coffee so it could be delivered alongside meals and enjoyed from the comfort of home."
