This is one of the most difficult posts I’ve ever made: the restaurant is officially closed.
The bottom line is that we were so far behind there was no hope of catching up, so the decision was no longer ours to make.
They tell me ‘businesses close every day-especially restaurants’, but this was always more of a gathering place than a restaurant. That’s why we stayed-not the money or the benefits, not the hours or the sweet vacation packages: only the people.
If any regulars want their mugs, please let me know. 😭 💔 Otherwise I’m gonna take them home til we can use them again.
I didn’t realize it would happen like this or I would have thrown a big party last week to thank you all for twelve years of business.
We are so grateful for the friends that have become family, and absolutely heartbroken that this is where we are. If my house was cleaner, I’d literally open it up for breakfast. Maybe summer will bring pie parties on the patio.
I can’t possibly say all that I need to say in one post, so we’ll still share stories on here, and please find me on my personal page if you’re only on the cafe page.
This is the end of one chapter, and I have no clue what is on the next page. So grateful that you’ve all colored our life with such joy for so many years.
