King’s Barbecue was established on December 20, 1946 by brothers John W. Located in the historic city of Petersburg, we are one of the oldest family-owned BBQ restaurants in the state of Virginia. Our mission has always been to provide simple, home cooked, quality food everyday in a family-friendly atmosphere. We use the freshest meats that are slow-cooked over oak wood, make homemade items from scratch, and continue to use our family’s perfected sauce recipe to create our unique brand of BBQ. Now in our third generation of ownership, we hope that you will be able to “make our family tradition…your family tradition.

Good morning everyone, due to the higher than normal demand we are experiencing right now, we are currently not taking call in orders. We have had to change our hours to accommodate breaks for our staff and to prepare everything again for the dinner service. This change in time should only be temporary. Here are the new times: 11-2:45 and then we will reopen 4-7pm. Thank you so much for your incredible support, patience, and understanding as we strive to provide enough food for everyone. -Alicia

YOUTUBERS REVIEW KING'S BBQ: We got a visit from David and Cindy O'Brien known for their Youtube channel "vafunseekers"! Alicia and I have been addicted to watching their channel after we closed down. They travel to all sorts of places and visit a lot of Virginia restaurants and we always wondered if we were open again if they we come see us. And to our surprise, they were there on the first day at the ribbon cutting ceremony! It was great meeting them for the first time. They are a very nice in person as they are in their videos. Y'all check out their video review on us and give them a "like" and "subscribe" to support their channel. Thank you David & Cindy! And as their daughter Carly would say, "Let's go check this place out!"
