Good morning everyone, due to the higher than normal demand we are experiencing right now, we are currently not taking call in orders. We have had to change our hours to accommodate breaks for our staff and to prepare everything again for the dinner service. This change in time should only be temporary. Here are the new times: 11-2:45 and then we will reopen 4-7pm. Thank you so much for your incredible support, patience, and understanding as we strive to provide enough food for everyone. -Alicia

YOUTUBERS REVIEW KING'S BBQ: We got a visit from David and Cindy O'Brien known for their Youtube channel "vafunseekers"! Alicia and I have been addicted to watching their channel after we closed down. They travel to all sorts of places and visit a lot of Virginia restaurants and we always wondered if we were open again if they we come see us. And to our surprise, they were there on the first day at the ribbon cutting ceremony! It was great meeting them for the first time. They are a very nice in person as they are in their videos. Y'all check out their video review on us and give them a "like" and "subscribe" to support their channel. Thank you David & Cindy! And as their daughter Carly would say, "Let's go check this place out!"

Thank Wayne Covil and CBS 6 News Richmond for taking the time today to document our return to servicing this community! It’s good to be back! Thank you all that made it out today! It has been a great day thanks in part to a lot of people that have worked hard to help us get going again. We thank our vendors for helping us get started and keeping us supplied. We thank our staff who are doing an outstanding job even with many them new to our restaurant. We thank Houston Thomas, our operations manager, for dedicating many hours to help us bring our restaurant back to the community. And most importantly, we thank our customers who are the reason we are here. Thank you for your wonderful support and always cheering us on even when we were away.

Are you ready?? Kings Barbecue is back! We're cutting the ribbon at 10am on Thursday, March 26. They'll be open Thursday - Saturday - and expect a few tweaks in their service operations and menu offerings. We are sooo excited to welcome them back!

Hey everyone, it's Matt from King's Barbecue here in Petersburg, Virginia. I'm super excited to share some big updates with you all about our return!

First off, the big question! When are we reopening? After being closed for three long years, we're gearing up to reopen this spring—aiming for sometime in the next few months. We don't have an exact date just yet, but we'll keep you posted right here on social media.

Our plan right now is to be open just three days a week—Thursday, Friday, and Saturday—to keep things focused and fresh.

We are expecting a large turnout from our local customers and all our loyal fans from across the state who've been missing us. Not to mention the new folks coming in that either haven’t had our barbecue before or might be coming in from the new casino just a few blocks away.

To make sure we can handle the rush we're switching some things up. Instead of full-service dining, we're going start off with fast casual style dining. That means quicker service and smaller wait times.

You order at the counter, take a number to the seat you want, and a staff member will bring your food to you.

Our menu's getting a refresh too: simpler and centered on what we do best—our barbecued meats and signature sides/desserts. This'll help streamline everything and cut down on those wait times even more.

And looking ahead, as we settle in, we might expand the hours, add more menu items, and even roll out cool features like online ordering. We've got big plans!
