Yesterdays fire on our family farm which was caused by the Roblar Road quarry is still giving me deep freak out feelings. Not only did a man die after the fire sparked, it is pretty damn obvious that there was no safety precautions on the part of company for the gas powered, high w**d mowing they were doing. No water truck assist, and way for the other people on site to even help the man trapped in the front loader that they had rigged up to be a mower.
Yesterday two fires were started by this quarry site and last week they started one as well. F***n terrifying. I’ve read from multiple sources now that no structures were threatened, but I consider our homes to be structures thank you very much and the fire came about 300 steps away. It was only thanks to the absolutely amazing work of our local firefighters that the blaze didn’t continue to spread.
Hoping that the narrative shifts from “random grass fire, no harm done” to “shut down the Roblar road quarry during fire season because they are incompetent and dangerous”.
Anyway, back to redoing a whole goddamn line of ranch fencing because it burned the f**k down.
