One of the meals that we are most proud of is a buttermilk biscuit with salted honey butter and jam. We would love to serve you one in the morning. And we have a really nice Ethiopian on drip that has a surprisingly full fruit note on the front end.

When I took ownership of The Ssipp Cafe in May of 2023 I set a goal of offering the best coffee in the Pine Belt paired with great food in a drive through and dine in setting. I’m very proud to say that we have the best coffee and breakfast in Petal and Hattiesburg without any equal. I believe we also have the best lunch in Petal. Of course there are many improvements left unfinished.

We accomplished the qualities and main goals that I set out to achieve, but I never took the time to ask if those were things that the community wanted. While we have enjoyed serving some amazing customers, the community as a whole prefers other things. It’s time to move on. We will be open one more week. I’m very sorry that we sold any gift cards before an abrupt closing. That was not planned. I’ll do my best to redeem those. I apologize for that inconvenience.

Thank you to the staff that has worked tirelessly (or at least continued working while dog tired) and to customers that enjoyed good food and coffee. Since a large portion of our customer base drives from Hattiesburg each day to visit us and order catering, I am working on a way to continue the catering side of the business.
