I went in the bakery earlier than normal today because I had to mix/roll/cut/bake over 30 Doz cookies.

That sounds like a lot, and it IS for me now, but it was a stardard Friday night at my old bakery, Wautlet's Bakery in Algoma...

... which brought back a lot of fond memories.

Nonetheless, I felt very proud when I pulled the last tray from the oven, and went back to the fryroom where my daughter Nicole (Thumpie) was making Apple Cake Donuts for Doud's Orchard and Pumpkin Cake Donuts for Aroma Coffee Shop...

... 75 Dozen Cake Donuts...

She wasn't even breaking a sweat.

I'm SO proud of her!

... and maybe just a little embarrassed for myself...

I made some old school Twisties and Chocolate Chip Cookies (and Peanut Butter!)

When Jade Cox first talked about taking over Aroma Coffee Shop and the kitchen from Dreams to Reality, I assumed it to be a lateral move on my part.

I'd still sell donuts to Aroma, and Jade would continue her Made by Jade business in the kitchen...

... but she had bigger dreams.

Though I'm not certain she's even old enough to remember, the kitchen side used to be the sitting room for DeRozier's Bakery.

She asked several times about the covered up accesses between the two buildings, and had thrown out a few ideas, but, honestly, everyone does that.

The thing is, few bring their ideas to fruition.

But, Jade did.

She has given up half of her kitchen in order to reopen the ol' sitting room, and because people have been begging for over 30 years...

... there is a bathroom!

Never have I imagined so much happiness coming because of a toilet, but here we are!🤣

Stop in and check us out while enjoying some caffeine and donuts!
