🥖 An Update from the Bakery (And Yes, We’re Still Alive!) 🧁

Hey there, baking family! You might have noticed things have been a little quiet on our page lately. 🤫

Full disclosure: Tess’s phone took an unexpected vacation and spent the last two weeks undergoing some serious repairs! 📱🛠️ We were completely out of commission on the digital front, but we are officially back online and catching up on everything.

Even though our doors aren't officially open to the public just yet, the ovens haven't been entirely cold! We want to give a massive, heartfelt THANK YOU to the amazing team over at Cape Electric! ⚡⛳

They chose The Bootheel Baking Co. to cater their annual golf tournament for the second year in a row! We are incredibly honored, grateful, and proud that they trusted us to fuel their players again this year. We truly appreciate your continued partnership and support!

The Big Question: When is the Opening?

We know you're all eager to come see us, and trust us, we are even more eager to welcome you in! We’ve hit a few of those classic construction setbacks that come with building out a dream space, which has pushed our timeline back a bit.
Right now, we are aiming and hoping to finally be back and open by mid-July. 🤞✨ Fingers crossed tightly!

🚨 An Honest Update from The Bootheel Baking Co. Team 🚨

Hey everyone! We know so many of you have been counting down the days to our Re-Re-Grand Opening this coming Tuesday. We were right there with you, but we’ve made the executive decision to push our official opening day back.

As many of you know, we took over this amazing space back in April, and we’ve been pouring our hearts (and a whole lot of literal sweat) into doing the renovations ourselves. Historic buildings have so much character, but as anyone who has ever remodeled knows: you fix one thing, and you find three more things that need love! 🛠️✨

Because we refuse to cut corners, we are taking a brief beat to ensure every single structural detail and finishing touch is 100% perfect and done right.

What does this mean for our timeline?

To keep things completely transparent, we are shifting our focus entirely toward a June opening. We aren’t locking down a hard calendar date just yet, as we want to get a little closer to the finish line first, but we promise to give you plenty of notice so you can clear your calendars!

Just because the doors aren't open yet doesn't mean the excitement stops. Over the next couple of weeks, we’re going to be sharing some exclusive, behind-the-scenes sneak peeks of the gorgeous industrial details we've been working on, a look at the progress, and the final countdown.

🥖 It’s Official! The Bootheel Baking Co. Has a Face! 😮

We had a major "pinch me" moment today! If you pass by the shop, you’ll notice something new on the front door…..our official address & logo are finally up! 🚪✨

It feels incredibly special because Tess did it all herself. She designed our logo from scratch, cut the vinyl, & braved the alignment grids to hang it perfectly. But while Tess has been handling the visual magic on the outside, Tristin has been doing the real heavy lifting on the inside to get the space ready! 🏗️💪

We always say we play to our strengths, & that’s exactly why we make such a great couple & business partners. One handles the design, the other handles the muscle, & together, we’re building this dream from the ground up.

Seeing the logo on the glass makes all the sweat & hard work feel so real. We are one giant step closer to filling the air with the smell of fresh bread & sweet treats.

Thank you all for following along on this journey. It’s starting to come together, & we can’t wait to welcome you through these doors soon!

🌷 To the mamas, the soon-to-be mamas, and the mamas who held their babies for only a brief moment or carry them only in their hearts, we see you.

To the grandmothers raising their grandbabies and the village of mentors and friends who have stepped in to help raise a child, we honor you.

At The Bootheel Baking Co., we believe children are such precious gifts. There is a unique magic in the way they grow, but perhaps the biggest transformation happens within us. We learn more about ourselves through the journey of raising them than we ever could walking this life alone.

Today, we raise a glass (and maybe a cupcake!) to the strength, the sacrifice, and the unconditional love that defines "Motherhood" in all its beautiful forms.

Steadily Chugging Along... Literally! 😆🚜

We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again: the road to a Grand Re-Re-Opening (shoutout to Bob Belcher 🍔) is rarely a straight line. We’ve hit plenty of speed bumps getting things ready at our new home at 106 N. Jackson St., and some days it feels like we are just making our way through the high grass one mower at a time.😆🤣😆

To keep our "chug-a-lug" spirit alive, we took a much-needed break this weekend to regroup at the farm in Lone Jack, MO. We got to reconnect with our "found family",Tess’ lifelong friend of 33 years, Amy & her family.

Whether it was catching the first fish of the day, making new friends with the local cows, exploring the creek, or "supervising" some work in the garage, it was exactly what we needed to fill our cups back up.

We are officially revived, refueled, and ready to finish the dang thing!

We can’t wait to welcome you back to the bakery. The hard work (and the double-occupancy mowing) has been worth it.
