Football is back, the patio is still open, and our smoker’s working overtime. August may be behind us, but we're nowhere near ready to surrender those beautiful days in The ’Burg. There's still plenty of sunshine, cold beverages, and patio sitting waiting to be had.

To celebrate, we're bringing back two Swig favorites and introducing a brand-new creation inspired by the wonderful indulgence of Southern comfort food.

We know you were worried. JT wandered a little too deep into the hop fields, disappeared over the horizon, and for a while we feared he had simply decided to live among the barley.

But fear not, beer lovers. Our intrepid beer mister has returned. Mostly unscathed, suspiciously tan, and carrying two new discoveries for your beer bingo card.

First up Do You Remember Your Last Good Hair Day? by Hoof Hearted Brewing
The name alone deserves a square on the bingo card. This Dessert Berliner Weisse is brewed with lemon, marshmallow, vanilla, and milk sugar, then dry hopped with Citra. Tart lemon meets creamy sweetness for a funky little flavor expedition that proves beer doesn't have to take itself too seriously. Neither should you.

Next up Dream Wave Fluctuation by Equilibrium Brewery in collaboration with Other Half Brewing Company. Two heavyweight breweries joined forces on this Imperial IPA, combining Equilibrium's Fluctuation grain bill with oats and lactose before giving it an aggressive dry hop of Galaxy and Citra. The result is big, juicy, smooth, and loaded with hop character. Apparently "aggressive dry hopping" is perfectly acceptable behavior when beer is involved.

This week is shaping up to be another ridiculously amazing one in The ’Burg! Jackets Football came out swinging with a dominant season-opening win, the Downtown Farmer’s Market continues to pack the streets, and there’s still plenty of summer left to enjoy.

Our kitchen crew is having entirely too much fun playing with their food and running the whole thing through the Swig flavor machine. The results are bold, unexpected, and exactly the kind of delicious trouble we like getting into.
