I am open to making specialty cakes for food allergies or special diets. My name is Melanie Malone and I am the sole proprietor of "Beauty & the Cake" home bakery. As a child my mother and I would bake goods together. It wasn't until I had moved out of my parent's house that I started to bake on my own because I missed my mother's baked goods. Three years ago I started making cakes as a hobby and
immediately fell in love with it. Though I am a self taught cake decorator, I continue to learn new techniques as much as I can. Since I have started in this business, I have faced challenges with custom orders. Clients requesting a cake to be less sweet and more healthy, to very difficult designs that I have never done before. These obstacles did seem a bit tough, but they inspired me to learn new techniques and help me reach the client's expectations.
