Sushi Staff Description
Our kitchen chefs and staff mean a great deal of significance to us at Nagoya Sushi. We welcome anyone who is 21 or older and have experience in sushi-making. You will work along the head chef to make complex Japanese food. In addition, some responsibilities include: preparing food, prepping supplies, and cleaning in between shifts. Target salary is $3000-$6000/month for a full time, depending on years of experience. Salary is negotiable. Any assistance means a lot as it keeps a good pace at the restaurant!

Flexible schedules are welcome. Either you're looking for full-time hours or part-time hours, we are more than happy to accommodate. However, people who are looking for part-time hours must be ready to work night time shifts.

Safety is crucial to us. We want to make sure everyone feels safe before we can assist our customers. Therefore, our wait staff know to extra-disinfect, sanitize, and sit people apart when they can. Staff is also expected to wear masks.

We are looking for people, 17 years of age or older, who can serve dishes and attend to customers in an efficient and friendly manner. As a small restaurant, servers and friendly customer service are especially important assets to us since it adds to the overall experience. A food server's responsibilities include ensuring tables are tidy when customers walk in, presenting menus, and serving food and beverages. You need to be quick on your feet (quite literally and metaphorically) and have a polite and optimistic attitude. Be ready to respond to questions and comments from customers in an attentive manner. If you enjoy a social and positive environment, we'd like to welcome you to the Nagoya family!

IMPORTANT: Due to the fact that we are a small business, our servers/bussers/cahiers will only earn an hourly wage starting at $15 an hour and NO TIP. The servers and bussers help each other out without a specific tip.

WORK EXPERIENCE: People with prior restaurant experience are highly welcome and appreciated to apply for a job; however, even without prior restaurant or work experience, we will gladly help and teach you through it. The only required characteristics/qualifications is to have a friendly attitude and a dependable work ethic.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

Prepare restaurant tables with special attention to sanitation and order
Attend to customers upon entrance and be attentive
Present restaurant menus and help customers select food/beverages
Take and serve orders with knowledge of the menu
Check on customers to ensure satisfaction
Fill up soy sauce bottles occasionally
Collaborate with other restaurant servers and kitchen staff
Deal with complaints or problems with a positive attitude
Issue bills and accept payment
