Yanikeke is a fun modern version of the Spanish word “Yaniqueque” (or in English - Johnny Cake)

When you eat Yanikeke you step into the culture & the rich history of the Dominican Republic known for its beautiful beaches, merengue music & famous baseball players

These delicious savory snacks are made from fried flour & shaped into round, flat circles popularly found along the beaches & in the home of native Dominicans

Over time the Yaniqueque has evolved from a simple flat cake into stuffed variations which include delicious meats & vegetables. These stuffed variations are known as “empanadas”

Our Yanikeke empanadas are filled with your choice of meats that have been slow cooked over night & fresh vegetables for maximum flavor
