What do blindfolds, crumpled paper "landmines," coffee roasting trivia, and trying to remember complicated drink orders have to do with running a coffee shop?
Quite a bit, actually!
This week our team stepped away from the espresso machine for a couple of staff training sessions focused on communication, customer service, teamwork, and staying accurate under pressure. We also gave them a deeper understanding of our coffee roasting process that happens more behind the scenes at Green Isaac’s.
We learned a lot, laughed a lot, ate dinner together, and discovered that giving directions to someone who is blindfolded while music is blaring and espresso grinders are grinding…is much harder than it looks.
Thank you to our entire staff -- who were already amazing and efficient before the event…but gave up an afternoon to learn to be even better!
And a HUGE thank you to Peyton, our Store Manager, who dreamed up the entire event, created the games and activities, and led both sessions from start to finish. She put in many hours behind the scenes to make it both fun and meaningful, and it was a tremendous success.
We're always looking for ways to improve, serve our customers better, and grow as a team. Thanks for supporting a local business that believes learning should be just as important as having fun.
