🚨🚨🚨IMPORTANT WEATHER UPDATES🚨🚨🚨
As Hurricane Isaias speeds up its approach and continues to gather strength, we have finally decided on our official storm hours. The Cottage Cafe will be closed on Saturday of course. However, we have compromised on what to do Friday-
All staff that need or want to be home to do last minute prep are off on Friday. No one’s going to be in who doesn’t want to be. That being said, me (Liz), Max, and owners Barbee and Chuck will be at the Cafe tomorrow and we will be OPEN for hopefully normal hours.
We are going to be spending a lot of the shift securing things like moving the patio furniture back, but we will also be serving food! We have a lot of perishables that won’t do well in the wake of the possible (probable) power outages, so we encourage anyone else who wants to participate in the honored Floridian tradition of the Hurricane Party to come on by, grab yourself a lunch and a bunch of to-go soup or a grilled cheese etc to munch on later, and to come together one more time before we all have to hunker down!
It’s a scary time but remember we’re the Gulf Coast, we’re built for storms like these, we’re just out of practice. We’ll make it through as we always do. Check on your neighbors, especially the elderly and disabled folks, get your chainsaws, flashlights, boards and generators ready, and let’s show this storm that Pensacola spirit 💗.
Everyone stay safe during the weekend, our thoughts are with anyone in the high risk areas closer to the water and in Okaloosa county, where mandatory evacuation has begun. If we don’t see yall tomorrow, we will see you when this all blows over!
