Today is a day that we did not think would happen after only 12 years in business.
We have permanently closed our Pensacola Beach location.
After recovering from the BP oil spill in 2010, then navigating the era of COVID, with a few hurricanes in between, we have succumbed to the effects of Skanka's barges hitting and damaging the bridge making it unusable for travel since September 2020.
Starting in 2009 with Memorial Day weekend, we have made some great memories, created life-long friendships, won Family Business of the Year, and were a part of a small tight beach community that served families from right here on Pensacola Beach to guests that came from around the world.
We created what we called the “American Dream” . A business that was our clubhouse and source of income to support our lifestyle. A restaurant with a menu that was fun and delicious, a location that was a respite from the sun and surf after a long day of play, and a team of employees and customers that we are eternally grateful to and for.
The traffic coming onto the beach has come to nearly a halt after the bridge into gulf breeze has been shut down. With no traffic flowing through, the majority of the hotels shut down and the hard costs of rent, utilities and supplies not lessening, we have made a difficult family decision to close this chapter in the Dog House’s history.
Thank you all for your support & friendships over the past 12+ years.
We hope to get to serve you again at our downtown location.
There are new chapters ahead and we invite you to be a part of helping us write them.
Farewell from the Beach Dog House Team
Don’t let us go to long without welcoming and serving you soon at the Downtown location!
