Thank You for the Encouragement

We want to sincerely thank everyone who has shared kind words and encouragement with us over the past few days. Closing Union Block was never our intention — and it was just as sudden and heartbreaking for us as it was for many of you.

When I say “us,” I mean myself and my wife, Juanita. It’s just the two of us — not a big business, not a corporation, and definitely not part of some restaurant empire. We’ve poured our blood, sweat, and tears into keeping Union Block going, especially through some of the most impossible times this industry has seen.

To be honest, I haven’t been able to read all of the comments on Facebook yet — it’s just too emotional — but I’m told the majority have been incredibly supportive, and for that, we are deeply grateful.

We’re aware that there are still gift cards out there, and while we’re not currently in a position to offer refunds, we do plan to address them. Please bear with us.

Thank you again for all the love and support. We’re not disappearing. We’re just figuring out the next chapter.

📣 An Important Update from Union Block Italian / Penn Yan

Friends, family, and faithful guests —

After much reflection, and due to a number of factors beyond our control, Union Block Italian in Penn Yan is officially closing its doors.

This decision wasn’t easy — this space has meant the world to us, and we’re incredibly grateful for every meal shared, every celebration hosted, and every memory made here along the Keuka Outlet.

But we’re not going anywhere.

This is not an ending — it’s a new chapter. We’re shifting our energy into special events, private restaurant dinners, remote catering, and exciting pop-up experiences in the restaurant and around the region. If you’ve loved the flavors of Union Block, rest assured — you’ll still have access to everything you love, just in new and more flexible ways.

We’re Back!

Thank you all for your patience and support as we took the time to reorganize, refresh, and retrain our amazing team. We’re thrilled to welcome you back to the new Union Block: Pizza, Fritta, Pasta, Bar.

We’re rolling out a brand-new menu focused on fast, made to order, pasta dishes, ultra-thin crust pizza, and our signature pizza fritta – a crispy Neapolitan street food favorite. While you might notice some of your past favorites are currently missing, we hope you’ll find a new one to love. And don’t worry – as our team continues training and we get back in the groove, some of those classics may return.
